Merry New Year cake

Last night was New Years Eve and James was sick so we decided to stay home, order indian food and watched The Time Travellers Wife, which was really sad but beautiful! I also made my first ever Christmas cake! It was ok to make but  really tricky to tell if it was cooked. It took about an hour and 45 mins total but I think I slightly over cooked it, some bits are a bit crumbly... oh well. I'm still pretty pleased with how it turned out and how its tastes. Here is the recipe I used.

It had 3/4 a block of dark chocolate in it so with the last quarter I made some peppermint brittle om nom nom. Happy New Year! I have a feeling 2012 is going to be amazing <3
